I pre-ordered this game and have been a dedicated player since its release date think its time to put in my two cents.

Crysis 2 has a mediocre campaign yet it has the most revolutionary multiplayer since cod 4.

The crysis 2 campaign like most if not all militaristic shooters has a campaign that is challenging for new players with a decent story, however but leaves no lasting memory. Forget the gamespot review...who buys a militaristic shooter for the campaign? You buy it for the multiplayer.

Crysis 2 is revolutionary because of its core gameplay, though those associated with cod (probably everyone reading this) will find familiarity with the overall set-up. As the player plays games, the player levels up unlocking new weapons and modules (perks that also level up as the player uses them), and then once the player reaches the level 50 they can choose to reboot (prestige) and can do this a maximum of five times. There are the standard game types, Instant action (FFA), TDM, Capture the Relay (CTF), crashsite (KoH), and a territories type game.

Crysis 2's core gameplay is what really makes this game. The player has a pool of energy and as they sprint, jump, cloak, and armor energy drains and the player has to wait for it to recharge. Now this sounds pretty boring, but in action the formula is amazing. The speed at which the players energy drains is all dependent upon what modules players have equipped and have upgraded which gives the player many different playstyle options.

Be aware this game has a huge learning curve, so expect to die, a lot, when you first get it, but it once you get the hang of it, it is the best shooter on the market.
