Improves over crysis in some ways but regresses in others, over all a solid fun game!

User Rating: 9 | Crysis 2 PC
Played through the campaign and some multiplayer.

Campaign:
The campaign yes has glitches with their semi retarded a.i. which unfortunetly detracts from the scope of the game. for example enemys getting stuck walking into a railing or completly ignore you. This bothered me since the campaing became wayyyy to easy, bumped it up to the max difficulty the a.i. went from pre-k abc's to junior high intellegence. now this basically boosted their situational awareness to the point if u poked ur head out too long you will lose it. which made the game alot more excited and cahllenging. Though its kinda irritating when u (uncloak bang cloak) a guy and his partner yells "MAN DOWN...HE's DEAD!" as he stands there completely still facing the wrong direction :( but over all the enemy (esoecially the aliens) will run and jump across the enviroment to hunt u down.

these things hinder an otherwise great campaign, the begining levels seem to drag on a bit but they are very educational to get new players used to the suit system and gives the player unique was of dispersing his enemies. the remainder of the game is a gun-ho balls to the wall i think im gonna die shooter through and through and the suit helps make you feel like a badass... up until a pinger drops in on maximum difficulty, then u run like a girl.

Multiplayer:
Nothing really new here besides the CoD inspired multiplayer with suit powers which can make for some intresting combat. you feel more in control of your charecter than in crysis 1's multiplayerwhere u felt disconnected from the enviroment. rank ups new weapon unlock and suit power ups feel very familiar. But i do like the simple Cod4 kill streak system 1/2/3 nothing else to crazy to liter the sky and ruin otherwise a fun MP experiance.

Graphics:
no DX11 or DX10... doesnt bother me all too much because the game looks great. I enjoyed every second of walking around in this tore up version of new york. At times i felt like i wasn't sitting at my computer anymore but I felt like i was realy in the shoes of Alcatraz making my way through a ravaged New York with all the diffrent verticle and horizontal battle fields gave a sense of scale and depth within a computer generated world.

Sound:
Sound effects and music are awesome, especially if you have a gaming headset, the first time a Ceph gun ship flies above and reverberates your ears and your suit gets all scrambled, it kinda of gives off a sense of doom. bullets and guns sound visceral and fun to shoot, and with armor mode on and u hear th tinking sounds of bullets ricocheting off your body makes u feel bad ass. But the voice acting is the only draw back here, it feels like ther was only 3voice actors for all of the Cell operatives, and i honestly think i hear "Sarge" from bad company 1/2 as one of the ceph soldiers...i kinda feel bad for killing him 100+times :/ sry sarge

Gameplay/control:
TIght controls and great player charecter animations once again make you feel like you are really Alcatraz from the subtleties of the hud moving as you breathe to the way the gun moves as you whipe around a corner, and A+ for making the suit control easier... honestly in the demo i thought it was blashpemy of changing it from the way it was, but i dig the new setup :)

finally pros and cons:

Cons:
-pretty dumb a.i.
-voice acting for all charecters- minus sa few of the main charecters (i kinda like gould)
-Alcatraz is a mute-. i guess he got his tongue shot out in the opening cut scene, cause Nomad talked quite a bit, and you couldn't get Psycho to shut up towards the end of warhead.
-restricting our sandbox play to only battle sequences,- I would like to apporach an area through a diffrent street or have multiple choices besides "walk on the road, or walk on the ledge of a building, or maybe through a sewer that pops u up across the street from where you started"
-online connectiontivity,- dont really need to explain that one
-has quite a bit of texture and object popping, though im not gonna hold it against them too much, no where near as bad as the console versions.

Pros:
-Really really pretty :)
-Feels so good- to get a Cheph to just "POP" with a well placed round from the Hammer.
-sound effects are well done
-the cinematic sequences are jawdropping- especially since its in first person, its the closest im gonna get to seeing a wall of water come rushing at me :)
-online play is solid and a fun diversion from othergames.
-even though dumb, enemies will flank and hunt u down...-much better than the targets that shoot back like in the Cod series, where every enemy is scripted to do the certain thing everytime u play.
-very diffrent from all the other shooters out on the market, and it is quite an experiance.
