Crysis 2 is a game that claims to be the best looking game period. This claim is mostly fact, though a few graphical hiccups mar an otherwise flawless presentation. The water is amazing and the environments are breathtaking.

You play Alcatraz, a marine who is in the right place at the wrong time. Through a certain sequence of events you come to posses a nanosuit that is capable of the amazing. Through a combination of stealth, speed, and power, you're the last best defense against an alien invasion of epic proportion.

Convoluted plot points aside, the main campaign is a spectacle of explosives, from huge buildings crashing down onto the player to large land masses rising from the planet itself, the game never ceases to amaze. The enemies are varied enough to keep things interesting, although there are plenty of idiotic cannon fodder to be mowed down.

Crysis 2 is unique in the way is approaches fighting, you have many different tactical options. If you want to take a stealthy route, it's available to you. If you want to go in guns blazing, the unique HUD will provide you with the locations of various weapon caches. There are some unique tools also like a microwave gun which light your foes up like a bag of popcorn.

Multiplayer is broken down in the three different game modes and while there's nothing particularly unique about them, they provide hours of fun thanks to customizable classes, weapon unlocks, and of course the amazing abilities of the nanosuit. There's stuff to get all the way to level 50 and not only will you get new toys, your suit will become stronger in the areas you use it the most.

Crysis 2 is everything you could ask for in a first person shooter. it has an interesting thrill ride of a campaign and amazing multiplayer that will extend the life the game considerably. Slight graphical issues and sometimes brain dead AI keep this game from my highest review score, but it's still a game that every FPS fan should own.
