Had high hopes for this, nothing but disappointment follows

Im very much into these kind of survival/horror/adventure games and so was quite excited at the prospect of a game with a relatively unique setting.

I started to get a little worried when the game first loaded, very basic menu screen which always gets me concerned.

When the game started I had high hopes again, nice setting of the scene, good intro and spending the first 30mins staggering around unravelling how you got to where you did.

After this early tantalising wears off you are left with a badly put together psychological mess of a game that doesnt quite know if its adventure/survival or some badly written ghost story.

I'll admit I gave up after 5 hours because I was fed up with the terrible combat graphics and mechanics and the lack of any real atmosphere or change of scenery...going through deck after deck hitting a button and bashing ur mouse button to hit an enemy with a gas valve is very tiresome, especially given half the time your swings seem to land somewhere else to where you think they should.

I can see why some people admire it, it has a certain unique atmosphere and the setting of a big shipwreck is something different. However, when that gets intertwined with flashes of colour, replicating a kind of travelling back in time moment to save a person that you have no clue as to who he is or why your helping, then the good points are quickly forgettable,

This could of been alot more but getting the basics of a decent combat system, solid graphics and sensible realistic looking AI is apparently beyond the scope of the makers.

Oh yes, as much as the people that designed this game thought they would be clever by giving us a "unique" health system...spending time warming my hands on a randomly placed 16th century looking flame holder or hunting for a switch to restore my health from a lightbulb is a little tedious.

Would have maybe given this a 6 or 7 if it wasnt for woeful combat mechanics and pointless supposed monsters.
