"Break the Wicket or Blast the Ball"

User Rating: 8.5 | Cricket 07 PC
One of the finest cricket games, I have ever seen. Especially the learning curve isn't too hard as one gets used to most of the basic gameplay from the first match itself. The batting isn't too dynamic or too cheesy but what separates it is the way EA people have designed the timing factor and the way environmental conditions affect your shots. The fielding also isn't that hard if you have played any of the latest Brian Lara Cricket series as here the maximum setting for fielding you have is semi-auto. But what makes this game unique is the balling section, in how you can really break down a team with some real accurate bowling. The immense amount of detail included in every section of bowling, be it the accuracy of swing bowling or deadliness of a bouncer, they do deserve a mighty punch. And above all its the spin bowling that really makes the best of all. No matter whom you select whether its Harbhajan Singh from India or Ashley Giles from England or the legendary Shane Warne, every bowler(Try G. Bailey from Australia) has his own unique bowling style and techniques and and yeah they have also included the infamous 'Doosra' bowling technique. The player creation isn't that diverse as almost every player you create may look the same due to the lack of diverse appearance customization, however, the player skill and information customization is good but not the best. And last but not the least is the superb action replay camera system that lets u into the action from any possible angle and yeah you can zoom to a very high level, but that's where the problem starts. The problem of lack of diverse textures(Too many repetitive textures) and some unfinished animations, like sometimes your fielders behave like clowns or just mannequins while catching the ball. Also the stadiums aren't that detailed except for the licensed Australian and English ones and yeah the Sharjah stadium is also fine. As for the rest, this game will give u unlimited pleasure if you are a cricket fan and yeah if you want some real challenge try the Ashes Scenario. I hope this review was helpful for you and thank you.
