Crashday is a fairly good game, but parts of it are just plain bad.
are fun, as well as most of the arena events. some of the race are not so good because of the AI. To be honest, the only races it works in are the ones that come in the game. If you make your own, it doesnt always work. Wrecking matches are great because there isnt any real objective except blow up other cars, meaning the AI cant screw it up.Another bad thing is that the game had multiplayer. HAD. Atari or someone shut down the servers (could have been moonbyte- they made the game), so unless you know where to look, you cant actually play online. Enough bad stuff. The game has some nice cars that can all be customized and, due to an SDK pack, you can even add your own. The track editor is also fun as you make your own tracks out of tiles and checkpoints. The same SDK pack that does cars also does tiles so you can add your own tiles too. Crashday supports analog crontrolers, which makes the game a ot easier to handle. Then there is modding. There are loads of mods that can be downloaded, cool stuff like extra cars, tiles and enviroments for the track editor. Its so easy to modd the game yourself, makeing cars cost nothing in career mode (cheating, i know). I myself made two of the cars, a pickup and a HMVEE into monster trucks!
Unfortunatley, the carrer mode in Crashday is bearly any fun. at the start of each event (which is quite a few times) there is some boring guy who says boring stuff and has a weird accent. You can skip him though, and some of the events are ok. In career, you can buy cars and parts for them, including bumpers and wheel, perfomance kits and even weapons! You can use weapons in any event unless they are disabled. They consist of a mini-gun on the side or roof of your car and eithe single or double missles fired from the front of your car. Theyre cool and usefull in career, and in arcade mode they are unlocked at the start, along with the starter car and two others to show you whats to come. once you buy a car or part in career, it is ulocked in the arcade mode, wich is much better than career because you can choose the event, track and settins like difficulty and number of opponents
all in all, crashday is a good game but many flaws in the AI and a bad career mode hold it back.
