Crash 2 is an improvement and if you dont got it, you better start looking! Editors choice Classic!
The bad: Way to easy. over in 5 hours. repetitive environments.
Crash 2 is awesome. its no longer frustrating. and you save in a save wall. crash 2 improves upon crash making it more worth while.
Cortex captured crash to tell him of the plan of... Saving the world? by having you collect crystals. the story is pretty predictable, but youll be focusing more on the awesome platforming and not to bad graphics (for a playstation game.)
The gameplay is better than ever. now that naughty dog ditched the frustrating elements that haunted the first game, crash is a heck of alot more playable . you get your basic jump and attack button but now you can crawl (and do a high jump while in it)do a slide kick, and you get more control over jumping. Sweet! Though it seems naughty dog overdid the easier difficulty because if your really good at platformers (like me)you can blast through crash 2 in 5 hours.but youll enjoy it and theres alot of replayablility (after the crystals you start collecting hard to find gems)
crash 2 also addded some minor mechanics to the game. Not only did the indiana jones inspired level returns. but you ride surf boards,across water, you also ride polar bears or be chased by one or both. in a pecific level you hide under ground to avoid bees, and in the last chapter you do some entertaining jet pack sequences. these mechanics are incredibly useful and enjoyable.
Crash 2 looks pretty good for a psone game (remember when i said that with crash 1?) obvoiusly crash 2 isnt meant to be played on a 50 or 60 hd tv but environments are diffirent this time (instead of focusing on forest designs like crash 1), crashes animations are smoother and every thing is good overall. The only problem is that some animations look stutery (thankfuly only on minor characters) and alot of the time the game recycles the same environments and doesnt really change up until the final chapter.
The sound is mostly recycled from crash one but the music goes along with the levels and every thing else fits with the game.
Crash bandicoot 2 is a blast play. im telling you now that if you had kids who couldnt enjoy the original or your some one who liked the original and just didnt play it much because it was to hard, crash 2 is a much easier and more enjoyable game. while its over before you know it and it is incredibly easy. crash 2 is a must have game on the Playstation
