A good introduction to the Counter Strike series for those who have never experience the franchise.

Counter Strike is known as "one of the biggest online FPS games" available on the PC. Well, because Valve are being rather nice, it's also been released on the Xbox, though not as good.

Don't get me wrong, it's good, very good if you've never played the PC versions, but it's bascially Counter Strike: Condition Zero for the PC but ported and watered down. One of the main features a fan may notice is the ability to select what you want your appearance to look like. No more can you be an 'SAS' soldier or a US Marine, the game basically makes all the terrorists look the same, and the counter-terrorists. Still, it doesn't suck too much out of the game. Everything else seems to be left in place, such as the maps 'Dust' and 'Dust2' which fans of the series will probably recognise.

The graphics aren't the best you'll find on the Xbox, but certainly not the worst. Though there are a few stuterry animations when concering death animations and such, it's nothing to get too upset about. Another good point to the Xbox's Counter Strike is the buy menu, it's very easy to use despite the fact that a keyboard and mouse cannot be used within the game and the game relies on your controller. Unfortunately, although the game is Xbox Live enabled, it isn't split-screen. But as another little bonus, you can always play your music throughout the game with the ability to play music off your hard-drive.

Basically, if you've never played a Counter Strike game before, this is a good place to start, but if you already own it on the PC, don't bother with this.
