Gun Game is the reason I kept playing CS. So damn fun! I'm glad they've made it an official mode.

@NewMeanings you have no idea what you're talking about. This game isn't being MADE to go up against COD and Battlefield. This is an XBLA and PSN download game on consoles to garner new players and a reboot for the CS franchise on PC. In no way is it meant to be compared to or 'better' the other FPS franchises.

These guys need to update their stuff. This game isn't even in the same league as BF3 and MW3.

Not to be a stickler but the ak-47 reload looks terrible.

Hope its not just a clone of source ive been waiting for this series to get better. Im excited to be able to play with a console only mate. But i must ask for more dynamic levels, atm they get boring after staring at them maybe spruce it up with some destructable/moving bridges or cover ect.

Source Engine is quite dated. At least there is no texture pop-in! But I still will buy this game!!! Counter Strike is a blast!

@Lpedraja2002 They do have some room for improvement (with the gun sounds and animations) still and the beta hasn't even started yet so I am hoping for the best. I also noticed that the sway when the player is running with a knife looks strange.

if you're familiar with valve's source engine games, you know exactly what it's going to look like. source engine still looks great on PC, especially on insanely high resolution.

I wonder how are they gonna balance this game out for the console players if they're doing the whole crossplatform thing? Counter Strike's ballistics are a totally different world compared to the COD games or other console shooters and they have to take into account that the CS veterans know the original maps from inside and out. Also, I hope they improve the reload animations a little, the ones from CSS look better imo. And I seriously hope they change that weapons menu for the PC, I hate those circle menu things.

I hope they improve the sound, those .guns sound like cardboard guns from Call of Duty

How dare they say "Gun Game style mode" on the article. Counter Strike had the original "Gun Game"

Guys, were we looking at the same trailer? Based on the game play footage that I saw in this video, the graphics engine looks old...very dated. I was not impressed at all. I have the original counterstrike...I enjoyed playing it years ago, but, I have no intentions on buying a game in 2011 that has a similar engine that was used in 2001.

This new version of CS looks pretty sweet! It's also nice to see they integrated the Gun Game right into the boxed product. GG is way too much fun to leave out!

It's good to see that the core gameplay still looks strong

The reload animations and weapons look horrible.

I love how you can tell that the off-screen footage was console due to the crappy aiming. Just watch the video again at look at how the players in off-screen footage miss so much, turn too far (and too slow), and just in general have all the traits that gamepads have in shooters.

I have nothing good to say about this preview. CS was addicting for sure, but this seems so outdated, I mean really outdated.

@Sergeant They already said they're not going to. It'd be stupid to have put them in, since Counter Strike has NEVER had Iron Sights.

I cannot wait for this. After Unreal Tournament, Counter Strike was my entry into competitive shooters. Love what they've done so far.

Hopefully they'll add iron sights. I've played all the Counter Strikes, from 1.6 to Source, and even before 1.6 when the Glock had a scope on it and when the AWP had cross hairs outside of scope mode..I just hated purchasing the Bullpup or Krieg and not being able to use the scope but instead just being granted to a very slight zoom in feature that hardly did much. I'm guessing that this will be heavily moddable and I just can't wait for the inevitable zombie mod to bust out, that would bring back a lot of memories.
