Standard issue survival horror.

I must be a sucker for survival horror games because I actually got some enjoyment out of it. I found the game to be a little easy, but the puzzles toward the latter part of the game are pretty good and require more than the right key for the right door situation.

The beginning of the game starts off like any generic survival horror game with a great looking intro and the protagonist thrust into a hectic situation. The idea of saving the vampires in an interesting one and made the game a tad more difficult considering the amount of darts it takes to take one of them out when a single shotgun slug or two rounds from the P99 can drop them. Good job on the small variety. Everything else is standard survival horror in terms of gameplay and story. Escape a place, get lost or stuck in another place, and take out the main boss in the final act. Control wise, the characters move like tanks but if you’re a survival horror fan then you know that already. The camera angles are sometimes substandard and don’t provide the best view of the action and sometimes the backgrounds make it hard to navigate but not too much. Standard issue problems in this style of gameplay of course, but still fun nonetheless. Like I said, I enjoyed this game. It was a little on the easy side, but it took me nine hours to plod through it the first time and I was content with that. Not too much and not too little. If you are a survival horror fan and want a game with a little twist, not a lot mind you, then this is a good game to pick up between big name releases.
