Certainly not the best in Galas best MMO
Gala's other game Flyff was down for extended downtime one of the Game masters told everyone to go play one of their other games.
Corum I decided to try after Rappelz client failed to work. (Clearly not a good week for Gala.)
Corum is a MMO barely...the game is very disorientating for first timers such as my self playing this game. The game does a bad job of guiding it's new players.
The makers of Corum decided to go with a different control system than most other mmo's have adopted, Which is both good and bad. Although it is nice to see a company break from the norm and come up with your own control system is good. However! what they have replaced it with has lot to be desired for. The arrow keys control the camera and it is very sensitive and hard to maneuver, The W,S,D,A, which normally moved you forward,back,right and left. In corum they made them open up various windows.
So to move your character and too fight you left with just the mouse. Which personally I don't like and found hard to get used to.
The Graphics are not that great. and the general opinion of it after playing it for only like 5 minutes was like "What a waste of time."
Traveling to different towns and the dungeons where you level seems kinds of silly and clumsy but yet again it is a new way of traveling I haven't seen before.
But like I have done before...I need to talk about the community.
The offical forums don't seem to be that friendly...my 1st post in the general board saying hello got locked with in 10 minutes because people were flaming the game.
The game is not popular with it's current status with the bugs that are in the game that have been around since the game started and not fixed still.
The moderator seemed kind of power hungry instead of trimming the thread they decided to lock and threatern people with forum bans. (which is kind of over the top)
Dealing with negativity is one thing. But if you start threaterning the players all you going to do is send them to another game....
Which ultimatly is what I did. Went back to Flyff
Gala is a money grabbing company but it is clear from only being in Corum for a short time that Corum is not Gala's main interest and none or little of the money from their CS is going into the game. More like being spent else where.
Gala is another company like many others that their left hand does not speak to it's right hand.
If you have read my other reviews you will know I always say you can't go expecting much from a free to play games.
But on this case what people come to expect of a free game. Corum falls way short of that which explains why 1 of the 2 only servers is virtually empty.
There are better F2P games out there. Flyff or Silk road online or Last Chaos, Just avoid this one.
