Obvious Beta

User Rating: 6.5 | Cortex Command PC
Note: I have revised my score, thinking I was being too harsh on my previous one. I got around alot of bugs by using auto-generate bases, but then base building is one of the most advertised points, and its glitchy, cumbersome and tedious!

This game has tons and tons of potential, but what your buying for $20 is a clearly unfinished alpha test. The tutorial is useless, the characters are impossible to control, the AI is suicidal and even Steven Hawkins cant figure out how the money system works in base builder.rnrnTo elaborate on that last point, you can allocate virtual money to build defenses on a spot on a map you own in the -unfinished- campaign mode. When you start building, no money counter is shown. You can build as much as you want. Then when a battle starts there, some objects will have appeared, some wont and your money depends on something not known to man. Sometimes I start with 2000, once I started with -200000000. Yeh. The game is entering Dwarf Fortress territory with user-friendliness it's all that bad.rnrnrnAnd the worst thing? This game could of been pure brilliance, but it seems the developer just gave up and released it half finished to get the money rolling in.rnrnIn short: Unless the game is actually bought to a playable condition don't waste your money on it. One of the most disappointing buys for a long time.rnrnrnNote: The other reviews were submitted when the game was official Alpha, so that could be why they are scored higher.
