When it comes to horror games , the japanese deliver the best

- Just Right

- 10 to 20 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Immersive"
I was reluctant at first when i saw that this was an interactive visual novel , but when I started the game , I couldn't stop playing ! The story revolves around a group of students who perform a "harmless" ritual , which transports them to an alternate reality , in a haunted school full of corpses , from where they cannot escape . The game play isn't anything special , the only thing you can do is interact with corpses (collecting students id cards) communicating with spirits , and moving around. But the game's focus is the story and the narrative , which from the first chapter sucks you in ! The game is divided in five chapters , and some extra ones that give you further insight in the story of the "Heavenly Host Elementary school " haunted grounds.
Although the characters are designed in pixels , the school grounds have an awesome design , and the game itself is atmospheric and dark , always keeping you on your guard. At points , the plot gets realy disturbing and the great voice acting ( although japanese ) scares the hell out of you. Furthermore , the multiple endings deem corpse party re-playable. But, a minor glitch and the time it takes to restart a chapter from the beginning makes the game feel sloppy.
Finaly I would suggest this game for any horror fan, and an advice for casual players , they should check some gameplay videos.
Hope you enjoy your time in Heavenly Host Elementary as much as I did !!
Story :10
Game play :8
Bottom Line : Worth your time !

It looks like an old-skool JRPG, but plays like a puzzle/adventure game. It's fun and frustrating, but worth a play.
