Cutesey cooking at its best.
As a simple DS game in which you go through stages of cooking certain dishes, there is no story. It is just simple, enjoyable fun !
In Cooking Mama 2 you have a large list of dishes, just like the first game. You can practice each stage of the dish first, which means you arent rated & then go on to do each stage & receive a rating. Going from bronze which is average, silver which is respectable and gold which is perfect !
Onto the new aspects, you receive a 'bonus' if you complete a stage before half of the time is up, this allows you to unlock clothing & accessories for Mama which previously you couldnt do. As well as backgrounds for the kitchen & stickers to edit photos of your completed dishes in the diary.
The other mode that is new to Mama 2, Let's Cook. It allows you to cook the dishes you have unlocked for various members of Mama's family. You do it all at once, there are no breaks in between stages... adding more of a challenge to the cooking !
Overall the game has been improved from the previous one & worth picking up.
