Anybody who liked the classic Contra games will need to give this game at least a try. the graphics are updated but Konami was smart by keeping the 2D element that made Contra a wonderful game. This game is also unbelievably challenging so it would probably be smart to rent it first. The game still has it's original characters and a new story of course. As for the weapons, they have three that you can choose from right away when starting. Of course you get the original machine gun, you get a flamethrower, and you get a gun that lobs bombs which helps against rows of enemies. All of the bosses have there own unique challenge to them. The mini-bosses that you fight in middle usually move more than the bosses at the end. Being this you would think the mini-bosses would be harder to beat but this is untrue. The end bosses usaully make up for everything by being over whelmingly powerful. For the Contra fans this game is a must play and will probably not be as challenging as to most people. For the people who just want to rent a good game this is a great one to choose. There is also 2-player which can help for the people not familiar with the Contra series. A friend and you can conquer the unknown together. This will obviously make the game easier than if you were to play it one player. A great multi-player game to just sit and play through for the fun of it all.
