A game which is hilarious as well as being fun

User Rating: 8 | Conker: Live & Reloaded XBOX

Conker's Bad Fur Day was originally released in 2001 for the Nintendo 64, this is a ported remake for the X-Box, which boasts better graphics, some new game gimmicks and a Live online mode (which I've never been on.) Conker is outside another child friendly fun platformer like Banjo Kazooi, Spyro, Gex you name it. But on the inside lies adult humour and other hilarious oddities.

The story starts with conker getting drunk and trying to make his way home from the pub, he gets lost and so the game of him trying to get home begins. It won't be easy though. Conker now embarks on an adventure.

Throughout the game you run around plat forming and doing various tasks for money, which you need to advance through the game. Tasks include retrieving a stolen bee hive from a bunch of giant wasps, jet boarding after cave men, riding on a dinosaur ripping someone's ass off, getting cows to poo. The game can be quite vile in places, but it is a lot of fun as well as being funny. Conker's moves include a "Funny helicoptery Tail thing" to cross gaps, attacking with a baseball bat, climbing, all the typical stuff.

At night the game play becomes a third person shooter and really deteriorates, in my opinion. Having said that, I admire the variety. The game controlls very well in both the platform and shooting sections of the game. It's not too difficult for the most part and is probably the best game I own on the X-box.

Humour in the game includes innuendos, slap stick and parodies of films (Jaws, Saving Private Ryan and the Matrix are ones I noticed in there)

Graphically this is amazing. It rivals the Wii. Effects are brilliant, colours are vibrant - the whole thing looks like it doesn't belong on the original X-box. It's that good. The music is pretty funky and all the tunes in the day portion are remixes of one particular tune.

So if you haven't played this yet, go try it. It is a lot of fun and down right funny. Definatly get it you can, it's well worth it and you can easily want to play it more than once.
