Conker's back and not quite as filthy as ever.....

Ok, I like that this game got another chance. Conker's BFD came out at the end of the floundering N64's days. It was a title that was over looked by many gamers as it was another run and fetch type game. But if you actually played it you realized that the game is a hodge podge of humor against hollywood, other games of the genre, metrosexuals, cave men, and pooper. The game was probably the most edgy of the N64 titles. So naturally after I learned that it was being updated and port to XB I figured that it wouldn't be over looked and panned again. Well I was wrong...

First off the game is more censored then the N64 title. Certain words that were uttered loudly on the N64 game are beeped on this verson. What! I though XB was known as a more "mature" console. Further more not much has been added. LIke so many other redone games before it I figured that the developers would add a little more zest for the loyal gamers that would pick up the updated title. Well not much to be seen. Further more the multi player is dumbed down from the prior version. The N64 version boasted more modes, levels and players, the XB version while it does include Live capabilities is slimmer then the N64 version. But it's not all bad. First off the game is beautiful. It's easily the best looking XB game ever. The animation is top notch. The attention to detail is unparalelled. The use of light and shadow is perfect. Plus it just adds to the comedy factor involved in this game. The voices haven't changed that much from the original version, infact they are the same. But they were good in the first version. They do seem a little out dated in this generation console which prides on presentation. The musical tracks are the same as the first, but have been updated to sound better. Those still fit the bill. The controls are much better then the N64 version. They are tighter, more responsive and seemed to be well adapted to the XB controller. The only complaint I have is combat. While it's easy to get into combat mode, preforming combos and evasions are difficult. It's better just to avoid contact with enemies all together. Basically if you haven't played the game it goes like this. Conker gets tanked one night and blows off his GF. Meanwhile the Panther King is looking to fix his table and thinks that a red squirl (Conker) will fit the bill. Conker is on his way home and his GF gets kid napped. He has to fight off Killer Dog sharks, Big piles of Poo, dung beetles, and big honking alien at the end. His prize....cash. The game is really funny, everyone has an english/scottish/irish accent and the same dialect. The boss fights are outragious. The content in this game isn't for children. The game is tough, but not impossible. So you might want to throw your controller, but give it another change. It's not impossible like Ninja Gaiden...oops did I say that. Enjoy!
