A fair tactical shooter that could of been a decent one if it wasn't so rough on some edges.

Conflict Veitnam is another one of those unintresting and generally dull tactical shooters that you probably wouldn't care about, its a not a bad game its just not a good one either.

In the campaign you play control four soldiers in the battle in vietnam. The story is pretty interesting, it makes a few plot twists and the characters can be quite likeable at times, this is due to the suprisingly good voice acting because the other games were terrible in the voice acting department. Also you can control all these four soldiers at once, you squad consists of a medic, a engineer, a sniper and the squad leader so there is some vairty between the soldiers. Also you can upgrade each of your soliders stats at the end of a mission which is pretty cool.

Its a shame that Conflict Vietnams gameplay isn't so good. The gameplay feels a little clunky, your soldiers control awkardly, the guns don't have a good feel and the AI can be a little dimwitted at times. The campaign consists of about 20 levels and can be finished in 8 hours. There's nothing else to the game apart from the campaign and there's little replay value, so its one of those games were you play through a mediocre campaign and never play ever again. Also the game is on the difficult side, this is because the AI of your teammates arn't very good and cheep deaths are quite frequent which results in frustration. The tactical elements are also quite dissapointing, theres not much you can comand your squad with apart from "stay there" or "follow me". It would of been nice to include XBL so you wouldn't have to put up with the AI. At least the game can be played through up to four players split screen though.

The grapihcs are passable tbh. There nothing special and arn't really to impresive. It does create a fairly decent atmosphere of vietnam and the sound desgin is actually quite good, i already mentioned the voice acting and the music is great.

There really is no need to play Vietnam, if you find it in a hop for like 2 quid then go ahead and check it out. But for the time at £30.00 is pushing it.
