A pretty fun racing game especially for FF fans.

There are several modes in Chocobo racing including story mode, versus mode, grand prix mode, timer mode, and relay race. Most likely you will start out by the story mode. The story presented is obviously really really simple - similar to children stories. But it isn't really bad or anything. You will start out only with chocobo as your racer. As the story goes on, you will be able to use other characters with new various abilities. The race itself is the core of the fun. Along the race, you can pick up bubbles - you can carry up to three bubbles. There are various kinds of bubbles; fire, thunder, blizzard, doom, ultima, barrier, dash, etc. If you collect the same kind of certain bubbles - fire, blizzard, thunder, and ultima - it may form one powerful bubble. You can use these bubbles to smash your opponents and take the lead. But beware, your opponents will also try to smash you apart.
Graphic became the main problem of Chocobo racing, otherwise it may turn out to be a pretty good racing game. The story which is presented through a lame old classic book isn't really fun to watch. Moreover, no character are drawn with good details.
There's nothing special with any of the sound. The sound effects of magic and abiities are okay. And well, the chocobo theme always brings back memories.
If you decided to play this game, you will sure try to get all characters in the game. Well there's only one way to do it; play it again. You beat the story mode and grand prix mode multiple times to get all characters including the secret characters. The story mode can be pretty boring but the grand pix mode is always fun to play again. And later on there will option to play the grand pix mode with a higher difficulty.
