Condemned 2 continues the story after the first game, only to discover Ethan Thomas has change… a lot.

Story:
The life of a street drunk is hell, but that's just the start of your problems.
Serial killer SKX is back and has been leaving a bloody trail. That, and the fact that half of the city population has gone insane are enough to sober even a mean drunk like Ethan.
As you no doubt have guest, you play Ethan Thomas and he has changed a lot since the last game. Ethan no longer work for the Serial Crimes Unit, instead he spends his time getting drunk in order to forget his past but no matter what he dose, or how much he drinks, his past will never disappear. As his past begins to catch up with him, he has no choice but to fight his way back toward sanity, and help his old unit solve a mystery that threatens to destroy the city.

*****The Graphics*****

Overall Design:
The graphics are great, from what can be seen. Everything is always dark so you probably want notice a bull texture here or there. The character models have very much changed. Everyone in Condemned 2 doesn't look the same as from the first Condemned. In a way, it is good because the graphics have improved, but can be quite confusing because the characters look different. It's like they redid the character from scratch. You may not even recognize some of the character, until you hear their names being mentioned.

*****The Game-Play*****

Game-Play:
The game-play is pretty much like the first game. You rely more on melee weapons than you would use firearms, but in Condemned 2, you have more option to use firearms because there is a fair amount of ammunition in the game. Condemned 2 is just as brutal as the first, maybe even more with more adding finishing moves. You can finish your enemies off by using certain object in the environment that you could not do in the first game. Once you grab a stunned enemy, icons will appear on certain objects in the environment to perform brutal finishes, some may even make you cringe. There are more enemies in Condemned 2 from serial killers and drug dealers on the streets to crazy clowns and disturbing creatures, to a grizzly bear… YES, A BIG ASS BEAR!!!
In addition to the hand-to-hand combat, you have your forensic tools to help you solve crime scenes as like the first game.
The levels are just as dark and linear as the first game, which is good for the scares.

Sound Design:
The sound-effects are just as great as the first, and even better with surround sound. Eerie noises, heavy breathing, and enemies taunting you… it's enough to make you paranoid and constantly look behind you.

Lifespan / Replay Value:
Condemned 2 will probably take you about 10hours to finish, much like the first Condemned did. There is on trophies for Condemned 2 so the re-play value may be slim. Condemned 2 is a great game to play ether on your own, or with a group of friends with the lights off and the volume up high. It's a great first play through, but once it's done, you probably want play it again any time soon unless you really loved it. Condemned 2 has a standard multiplayer feature which is good but with all the other multiplayer games out there, Condemned 2 is lost within it's own darkness.

Overall Condemned 2 is good, but not for everyone. Good interesting story, but somewhat looses it's tall coming toward the end of the game. If you like scary games, a great interesting dark storyline, brutally insane game-play and love or even liked the first Condemned, you'll like Condemned 2. Maybe not for everyone, but it's a good rent. If the no trophies feature puts you off, I would recommend it for the Xbox 360 for the achievement… if you have a 360.
