Another creepy installment of horror in FPS mode.

If you played the first game then you will understand the story and basic combat, but here is a small review. You play as Nathan Thomas, who apparently has some secret power within him that even he is unaware of. You have to investigate why things are happenng to you and why the City has suddenly errupted in riots and angry people. This group called the Oro have been taking control of crazy people and making them go even crazier. Nathan has to find out whats going on and hopefully stop it.

The controls are pretty basic as you can punch and kick enemies if weapons arent available. But when they are, they are plentiful. Grab anything from Pipes to Assault rifles as you battle through many well designed levels and enemies. Each weapon has its attributes and as you play you will bnecome comfortable using different ones. At the end of the game you even get a Voice attack which was only useful for enemies far away and the last Boss. You can perform combos for stronger attacks and even block to throw enemies off guard. Most enemies are easy kills as the A.I. isnt all that bright. Although, some enemies are relentless in their attacks.

There are som side missions as if you perform certain tasks perfectly you will be well rewarded at the end of each level. Trust me, go for the gold as it is well worth it over other prizes. The extra holster and knuckle knife are lifesavers.

Most of the game is pretty straight forward but there are instances where you really have to think about what your doing because it will effect outcomes and battles. There are also forensic sequences where you have to xamine evidence and report bck to home base. These also determine your end of mission rewards so its important to be sure of something and pay attention.

The game does have excellent graphics and a very creepy feel to it. The environments are well drawn and very lifelike. The horror in this game is very well portrayed. If you ejoy the first game, you will love this one although the ending is once again open to a sequel.
