CNC4 is not an RTS

CNC4 is not a Strategy game. It's more like a DOTA or LOL meets Mech Warriors game than a RTS.

Why DOTA or LOL? Well, the crawler gives more the feel of a huge Mech Hero which can spawn tank minions, than a Strategy game Unit devoted to create a base and figthing units.

BTW? Where is the Base???

This is supposed to be a RTS right? Who did in EA decide that a RTS doesn't need Micro, Macro, Economy and Building Orders?

Where is the Stragey than? Spawning a limited amount of units for free, near a tower is not what I call strategy nor "a different approach to RTS".

No economy means no resource collecting, no harvesting to defend, which equals to the elimination of half of what RTS is.

No macro means no base building, no economy chanelling, (to decide what to build with the resource we gathered) is the other half of RTS.

Micro is not something that makes strategy. No, Micro is what defines tactics. Handling units movements and special abilities are considered to be tactical elements.

Yes there is Micro in CNC4, but... Do you need it? No. You don't need tactics, if you can respawn new units for free. In short, Micro (tactics) is needed to raise the efficiency of your units. (killing most units before being destroyed). But u don't need to keep them alive, if you can respawn them for free. In CNC4 the only micro you need is to call back ure units to destroy them yourself, if they are useless.

Well, someone in EA thought he had a good idea. But he hadn't. The guy who took this approach may think that he is bright and innovative. He is Not. He is just a simple dude, who had a stupid idea, and didn't realize that it was a stupid idea.

All the reviews they get are punishment enough I guess.

PS: Gamespot was gentle with a 7.0 too gentle.
