User Rating: 8.5 | Closure PC
Closure is an atmospheric monochrome platformer with puzzle-filled levels. I first played this game on Kongregate, where it is freely available. You start off next to a wrecked car, and it is somewhat ambiguous whether or not you survived the crash. As you go on, the first few levels show you the game mechanics. You can walk and jump on any of the white surfaces. However, they are only solid when they have a light shining on them. You can carry one light, but also put them on pedestals, which allow you to light up areas of the level. Some of the pedestals move, changing the areas of the map you can walk on, allowing you to walk through walls, or plummet to your death. Some of the orbs are not strong enough to light up on their own, and merely amplify the light of others. This makes some of the levels very tricky, as they must be completed in a certain order.
The game is very atmospheric with the aesthetics and the music. Both are very suggestive that you are dead, although this remains ambiguous to the end. I found the later levels very challenging, and although you always return to the level you died in, it is still a tad frustrating. However a complete visual walkthrough is available on YouTube if you get board and want to see the ending.
It's a very short game, but I wholeheartedly recommend it as it is free. Even if it wasn't, I still think this is a good little innovative game, great fun for people who like a tricky platformer.
