An overall enjoyable Marine Game dispite Stiff Controls

User Rating: 8 | Close Combat: First to Fight XBOX
This is one of the more challenging games on the original Xbox. However, it isn't because of AI, or mission objectives it's because of stiff controls. Through out the game you take control of Marine Fire Team, in the midst of a Second Lebanese Civil War, while this is a rather interesting concept but it has been done to death, and the game would have been better if it had been made as a Tom Clancy Style Special Forces game.

The game's major problem is it's stiff controls, it takes forever to reload and the team moves increadibly slow exposing you and the rest of the team to enemy fire. The major control problem though are the menus. The game features two different radial menus, one for switching weapons and another for issuing commands, and it can be easy to confuse the two and the buttons aren't explaned in the video tuturals that preceed a mission.

Over all the game isn't that bad, it presents a very acurate dipiction of life in the US Marine Corps during actual military operations, including use of actual Marine tactics. It has some very decent graphics, and extremely good sound effects, and a decent variety of levels, including a mission that takes place in the sewers of Beruit instead of just in the streets or a building.

While the game has decent sound effects, you don't need a blasted Air Raid Siren going every five seconds.
