you need your squad and the rest of the marines to survive
You'll be telling them to assault through a doorway then deciding where in the team you want to go: first, last or in between.
You'll be calling in other marine assets like a sniper, helos, mortars etc when your squad weapons just won't do. but the game does a good job of letting you decide when and where to use them.
After each mission (broken into smaller objectives), you get a summary of your leadership. One shortfall here is that you don;t get an explanation on what goes into that score: using your men more or less? Putting them in harm's way more or less?
the game and AI work pretty good. it took me a while to break the mindset of a twitch FPS: there is no jump for example. But I learned to really like the flexibility and smarts built into the context sensitive "radial menu".
Recommended if you like playing FPSs that are thoughtful and not all just "twitch"
