XBLA needed a game like this

User Rating: 9.1 | Cloning Clyde X360
When i heard about this Cloning Clyde, I figured i was just going to try the demo out because i had nothing else to do. Lo and behold I became instantly hooked on Clyde. The gameplay is pretty straightforward. You start out by beating up robots and cloned chickens that for some reason explode at the sight of you. You have to solve some interesting puzzles by using rocks on levers, some environmental tools like rockets, which have been done ad nauseaum before, but this game adds unique gameplay to the genre in the use of cloning gizmos. To solve some of the puzzles you have to use cloning machines to clone yourself by standing on obstacles or pulling levers to catapault another clone of you to a certain part of the level. You also run into interesting machines that will mix the DNA of two objects. Say theres a ridge that you just cant seem to jump to. No problem, you just mix your DNA with a chicken and, presto, you now have become Chicken Clyde and can fly. So far, i have also seen a Stone, TNT, and Sheep Clyde. The story is laughably non-existant (and i mean that in a good way). With a short 30 second intro movie you are introduced to the world of Cloning Clyde. Enticed by the reward of twenty dollars you are led to a cloning factory where they seen to enjoy cloning animals like chickens and frogs. Almost out of nowhere you get zapped and are cloned. The machine has a malfunction and it seems that an army full of Clydes has spawned. It is now up to you to escape from the cloning facility along with the duplicates of yourself. Along the way you complete levels by destroying all the security robots in an area but scattered throughout the level are clones of yourself that you have to help escape through exits as well as clones of your favorite Killer Ken action figure (which Clyde seems to take offense when someone calls it a doll) that was in your pocket when you were cloned. During the game you are given hints by ingame signs addressed to you that are written by you, or a clone of yourself anyways. The character of Clyde also has another quirk to him. His outfit, when he is not in some strange mixed clone profile, consists of a backless medical gown. Whenever his back is turned to you you get a not to pleasant image especially when is climbing up and down ladders. Its gameplay is very easy to learn and most of the achievements arent that hard to get, but you have to put effort into the game in order to get the full 200 points. One thing i noticed is that if u play the demo first then unlock the full game u have to go back and redo the levels u just completed in the demo version. No biggie though since they only take 5 min. tops to beat. One negative factor i have with the game is that there is no music to speak of in the Single player mode (i have only played the SP but will try out the MP tomorrow). You can always play your own tunes that are on your 360 or in your disc drive but this game would have even better with some original music to go along with it. All in all i was satisfied with the addictive single player with 24 main levels and an assortment of side levels as well as multiplayer modes
