An alright game, with alright controls and alright everything.

User Rating: 6 | Clive Barker's Jericho (Limited Edition) X360
There's just some games, that are just average. These games you don't feel a huge need to dive through the game, or feel like you're just "going through the motions". It's there, you play it, it's fun in some parts and annoying in others. Nothing really stands out, it's just okay.

The downside to this game, and all average games, is there is potential to be so much better. You play as a Jericho member, a group of seven who have psychic abilities and take out demons, or whatever. The game doesn't tell you who you're really fighting, you just know someone is trying to close a portal to let The First Born out. First Born is of course the last boss battle, which is average.

The problem with having so many playable characters is some will be bad. I only used 2 characters consistently through the game, one who can throw fire and one who has a sniper rifle/grenade launcher and can slow down time. The rest of the characters are just forgetable, and you never really get to know them because there's little back story and little reason to care about them.

The game plays like most FPS, with the added abilities. The enemies are the main problem, they vary very little and the AI is pretty bad. Some levels are designed well, but others just look the same. The game plays fine, there's just no real great parts.

So, the story is forgetable, the gameplay is solid enough and the camera isn't too big of an issue. Not really sure how to review a game like this because there's not a whole lot to discuss. The game lasts around the ten hour mark, and as a bonus it makes you play through on hard if you want to get much achievements.

In the end, Clive Barker's Jericho showed a lot of potential, and maybe if Clive got to another game it could be even better. The horror genre is sorely lacking more great games. It's a journey worth taking if you want something light and to shoot stuff, but don't expect to be blown away.
