The first Super Mario game. This is what made Mario what he is today.

This is the first of the Super Mario Bros. series, obviously. Almost all video game players have played this game at one time or another. There are 8 classic worlds with 3 levels and a castle on each. There is also a two player mode, where the 2 players race to try to win first. This is Mario's first game where he is recognized as Mario, except for Donkey Kong. But this time he has a different Princess to save, Peach.

In Super Mario Bros., you go across the levels trying to get to the flagpole, on which you jump on to finish the level. The higher you jump the more points you get. There is levels on land, underground, underseas, and in clouds.
There are various enemies in the game such as Goomba's, Koopa Troopa's, Lakitu's, Buzzy Beetles, Spinys, Bullet Bills, Hammer Bros, and of course, Bowser. In each world end castle you will encounter Bowser. You will have to go underneath, or over top of him, but you cannot touch him. There you will touch the axe, and the bridge will fall, sending Bowser into the lava. At the end of the game you will find Peach. The rest of the castles have Toads saying "Thank you Mario, but the Princess is in another castle,". And let me tell you, that gets pretty damn annoying after awhile. After you beat it a few times, the levels kinda get sorta bland with their sometimes dull color, but over-all a great game.
