"The game that saved the industry that I love with every fiber of my being and the very first video game I ever played. Super Mario Bros. is a legendary title. You can play the Super Mario Bros. theme song and everybody who hasn't been living under a rock for the last 40 years will recognize it. Super Mario Bros. was so addicting because of how much fun it was and how appealing the Mushroom Kingdom was. Kicking turtle shells, breaking bricks, and stomping goombas are some of the highlights of not just my childhood but the childhood of nearly every member of the gaming populace.

My mother tells stories of a how a two-year-old me would stand in the middle of our living room playing Super Mario Bros. never sitting down, and practically glued to the television and everytime Mario would jump, I would jump. After doing this literally all day, the next morning my legs would be so sore that I couldn't stand and I would have to crawl into the living room and lay in the middle of the living room floor to play more Mario.

That is the perfect example of how addicting and fun Super Mario Bros. was and still is. Playing co-op with your friend as you both try to rescue Princess Toadstool (Peach) from the evil King Koopa (Bowser) are extremely fond memories of mine. Breaking bricks to reveal a beanstalk to climb, discovering the minus world, using the Fire Flower I could go on for hours on end about the experiences in this game. The enemies were also interesting Goombas were weird and you were delighted to smash their heads in, Lakitus were annoying and you cursed them everytime you saw one, and who can forget the badass Hammer Bros.?

The only problem that I can contemplate with Super Mario Bros. is that once it's been played enough virtually all challenge is taken out of it. But that is true with virtually every other video game, so the one thing I can think of can't really be used against it.

In conclusion Super Mario Bros. has more than likely touched you in some way shape or form and gaming wouldn't exist today if we hadn't been saved by our little Italian Plumber Jesus and his tall green Moses brother. I think I speak for all gamers when I say, Thank You Mario & Luigi."
