25 years later and still an instant classic!

User Rating: 8 | Super Mario Bros. NES
Mario has done it all. From astronaut to race kart driver its easy to forget how he started off and became popular in a small game called super mario bros. In this game you control mario(dun dun dun)as you traverse eight worlds containing 32 levels. Whether its the nostalgic first world or the insanely hard and check point free world 8, the game is a true cult classic.
Controls are extremely simple using only two buttons and the control pad you run jump and stomp you way to victory through challenging worlds taking down classic enemies like goombas, koopas and the pure evil hammer brothers and lakitus(a gamers worst nightmare)!
You take care of enemies by jumping on their heads or stunning koopas back into their shells to be used as deadly weapons( koopa shells, killing enemies for 25 years)
At the end of each world you battle "bowser" who can "magically" turn into a normal enemy at the end of 7 worlds( thats totally not strange or suspicious at all......)
Im sure that you know what i am going to say as my verdict but before that i must, regrettably talk about some of the flaws with this game(Flame Shield on line!)
First of all is that this is not a game that can hold your intrest for too long on a daily basis(from my experience unless you got it as a new game or are very bored. Second of all the "multiplayer" isnt really multiplayer as you and a friend just take their turns playing as mario and luigi who play exactly the same. Lastly the gameplay, though fun soild and simple lacks much variety. Now i am not bashing this game as it a classic and good game but it is my job as a reviewer to tell the truth about a games pros and cons but im happy to say the pros of this game outweigh the few cons and for 500 wii points its a great bargain for a great game!
