Still tastes of CIM1, Visually nice, and very much still draws you in!

User Rating: 8.5 | Cities in Motion 2 PC
Couldn't wait for the second Cities in Motion to be released, at first I thought they had messed it up. But after an hour I was hooked! Hooked like Transport Tycoon even. So I'm very much a happy man now :)

Pros:
Very pretty game play, detail is spot on.
Route planning is brilliant. Optimising paths is a lot of fun.
Depot, and general vehicle management is a great addition. Allows for the perfect balance of route needs, capacity (night small, day medium, rush hour large) pick what you thinks right for the time of day and route.
No more having to re-buy all your vehicle's when they get old. Now they repair in the depot over time.
In game store for more things. Normally a big no from me but as the game is a very good price, and its less than a quid in the store. (yet needs more content)
Zones and ticket prices :)

Cons:
I miss having airports and stations dotted over the maps (I enjoyed having to deal with huge numbers of people generated, and then along your network)

Nags:
I find the maps feel slightly wrong, possibly scaled wrong. Quite generic.

All in all:
A brilliant follow on from CIM1, Much more to do, to sort out and to optimize. I thought CIM1 was a good contender for the lack of Transport Tycoon genre (for a strictly passenger game that is) and feel although totally different, possibly started from scratch. CIM2 have ticked alot of boxes for a game like this.
The team are still working hard with updates, and you get a sense that they are making a game they want as well as you. Steam as a good community for this game and CIM2 keep you posted of whats going on with the game.

Im very impressed, I think the game deserves more hype than its got and getting. And think if you like transport games, arcade ish business management and just generally like to tweaking your creation then give it a go!
