A wonderful storyline filled with time travels, beautiful graphics and memorable soundtrack.

Chrono Trigger was the first RPG I've ever played. I still remember clear as I started playing this game. The image on the cover seemed appealing back then, and I just wondered what was that about.

The story started really simple, but right away it got interesting with the small plots. Then as soon as you are able to use the time warp, you understand why this game it is a classic and masterpiece. It has "soul" in it. The storyline is so well developed and, although not complex, it is so rich that makes the game's world real in a way. As you travel around with your Epoch, you feel you are a part of the cast.

The gameplay is pretty straight-forward, however, there are many interesting mechanisms, like the Dual-Techs inserted in the game. It was not meant to be complex, yet at the same time it does not bother you as how simple and clean it is. There is also a plentiful of side-quests to be completed and many endings, making this game playable for a long period of time.

The graphics were probably the most beautiful ever to reach the SNES. The colorful and darker tones of the game were brrought to life on that 16bit machine. A lot of details from characters, places, map... really well developed. The character design by Akira Toriyama shines amidst the console.

The soundtrack, composed mainly by Yasunori Matsuda, leads both the storyline and graphics to a even higher standard. Every character has its own "main theme", which makes you get even more attached to them and to the story. Everywhere you go in this game, you have a wonderful supporting background music which is inspiring and touching.

This game had brought together most of what is considered best. Well developed, high standard graphics for that era's console, and a fabulous soundtrack with a very easy and enjoyable battle system. I trully recommend it to anyone who plays rpgs (especially japanese rpgs). It cannot be missed.
