Best RPG without the word Final Fantasy on it

This game is superb simply because it had some advanced features that not even final fantasy has. For starters, it has a excellent music. While rpg like final fantasy is still using midi music at that time, chrono cross is already using well composed orchrestated music. Playing chrono cross is like sitting in an orchestra concert.

The gameplay is also well being of its time. Its turn based gives new players ample time to plan out their strategy. While there may be a huge learning curve to its battle system, once you figure it out, battle is lot easier. The world in chrono cross is a lot smaller than most rpgs but that does not mean there lesser things to explore. Simply because the world is smaller, player can explore every corner of each place they visit. It pretty amazing that you can pull off an entire story just based on two worlds.

The story may be the most annoying part. Not only it hard to understand, it seems to leave more questions than answers. Another thing is that there simply not enough link to its prequel, chrono trigger.

Overall, this is a excellent game with the right amount of pacing and worth playing all over again.
