In the early years of personal computer gaming, Choplifter was a game that was must have among all of my friends. People would come over to play this game on my commodore with me. Hard to imagine now with only a few colors and beeps for sound. But it was quite engaging back then (it could also be that I was a kid). The game is basically played with you controlling a helicopter that has to save the hostages by entering enemy territory finding the hostages,... touching down to pick them up... and leaving once you have everyone, while avoiding enemy fire. This sounds simple enough, but without a good AI system back then, it was pretty difficult when little shots were flying everyone on the screen. It is a very simple game with simple graphics and sound. But for such an early game, this was a great accomplishment. For fans of old games and people who enjoy nostalgia, this is a good pick up. The arcade quality to the game may even still interest people into spending some time playing it rather than just collecting.
