How do unlocks work?

    I played FFA on a server and got the War axe for man at arms unlocked, then went to a team objective server and lost it and any other weapon progress I had.

    I haven't had that experience to me. Unlocks equal player kills. So to get the 1st locked weapon you need kills with the unlocked weapon. Then you need kills using the 1st locked weapon to unlock the 2nd locked weapon.

    I don't know how items are unlocked in the 3rd category.

    That's actually not right. Any weapon in that line can be used to unlock the third. For example, once you unlock the light crossbow, you can use either the crossbow or the light crossbow to get the 75 kills for the heavy crossbow.

    I don't know why the game rolls back your progress. I've had it happen several times but I can't find the answer to it.

    The Special equipment is not locked, so no unlocking is required.

    The game only rolls back if you quit during the active match.

    Incorrect. Luckily I learned quickly and didn't try to unlock the heavy crossbow with the light crossbow. That would have taken forever.
