Needs a little more love from the gaming community, very fun and very addictive.

User Rating: 8.5 | Chaos Wars PS2
This game has a bad rap here in the US, it really does. I don't know how many reviews I have read that have put this game down, or how many low-number scores it has gotten that make people not get it. Granted this game has it's faults but what game doesn't? All in all, Chaos Wars was a highly enjoyable game that really is under appreciated and needs a bigger fan base.

Before I go any further, it needs to be said that this game should be listened to in the Japanese voices. Why? Because the English dubs are just flat out horrible, it really does sound as if the same two people did voices for the games many many characters. It's enough to make your ears bleed. But don 't worry, the subtitles are in English, so you'll be able to follow along either way. The cut scenes, are lacking, if you're expecting movement, you're going to be disappointed (like I was). The scenes in which speaking goes on, you simply have art of the characters talking with various emotion switches. It's not the best, but you get the idea of what is going on and I suppose that's all that matter. But really, it's a let down. However, the art you do get is very nice, and it makes up for them not being moving scenes.

Chaos Wars is a cross-over tactical rpg game (that's a mouth full) and as such you have your original characters and characters from the games crossed into it. That being said, you have an OVER abundance of characters at your command from many different games; most of which weren't released in the US. It's a bit much if you like having everything maxed out as I do. It also can be a pain when it comes to the main storyline, you never know when they will decide to pull in a under-leveled character from your reserves and force you to use them. But all in all, it gives you many great characters to choose from, which always makes for a fun game.

The graphics are very good, the sprites are well animated, and so adorable. The weapons change as you equip different ones, but the clothing always remains the same, no matter what armor you are wearing. But the weapons are very different, and sometimes amusing, so it's alright. And unlike many turn-based systems, in battle you are able to perform more then one action, which makes it a little easier to keep yourself alive when fighting against many enemies.

All in all, this game is a lot of fun and will keep most people entertained for a while. The only problem that I really find with it, is the fact that it gets a little repetitive after a while. But I love this game so much and I highly recommend it to anyone.
