If you are looking for a quality JRPG game on android which is true to the traditions of the genre - look no further.

User Rating: 9 | Chaos Rings II AND

In our days we usually see the decline in JRPG world which results in too many JRPG games not being released outside the Japan. And it is good that Chaos Rings series saw the light in English.

While tech. requirements for this game are kept low and it runs on many not so powerful android deviced - graphics look very good and are on par with many console JRPGs of the current generation consoles.

Battle system is turn-based and gives you a lot of space to think through while providing fluent controls for you to choose what to do next. Perfect for a touch-screen device. Buttons are big enough not to select what you do not want to do. Movement controls are responsive and fluent and do not depend on particular place. Character unique field moves are done nicely and really add to the immersion in the game (solving puzzles and thinking which character to use next time to get where you could not before).

Soundtrack is true to the best roots of the genre - immersive and great, providing the great atmosphere. Dialogues are not translated to english but maybe it is for the best because you get to hear the original voices with all emotion and passion.

This game really has a lot to offer. Storyline is twisted and unpredictable and presents you tough choices which really make you doubt yourself and think outside the box. Challenge is quite big in this game and it never lets you relax fully. Not mention that aside from main story you are presented with many sidequests and content which truly tests your wits and tactic abilities. Maybe downside is that the selection of areas is fairly limited and many areas seem the same (transitions). World is frozen in time so don't expect some moving grass and clouds and such. But it looks good nevertheless.

Result:

GOOD: Great battle system, good challenge, awesome soundtrack, great graphics for a mobile device, great storyline, much to do aside from the main storyline, touch choices make this game very emotional.

BAD: Not many locations to select, some areas look the same and can wear you down, main storyline is quite linear in a way.

Conslusion: This game stays true to JRPG genre and should be experienced by every JRPG fan. Probably one of the best JRPG games on mobile devices these days and despite it's some flaws it is a great game.
