Don't let them fool you. Chaos Legion is a challenging and action packed game worth trying.

Giancarlo Varanini, you did Chaos Legion no justice. It's a little more than just mediocre. From the start it was insisted that this game be compared to something as successful as Devil May Cry. The truth is I don't see why this wasn't rated at least above average.

First of all I would like to note that it is said that this game is beatable in 5 hours. I couldn't extrapolate that at first because it took me a little over 30 hours to finish this game on Normal. Then I realized that this was reviewed with someone playing on Easy which is like playing Devil May Cry on Easy. WAY TOO EASY! On Normal, Chaos Legion is both challenging and alot more than just a button masher.

As you collect Legions or these minions that follows your command in battle, you level them up and they grow. They teach you abilities like attack combos and increase your stats along with some other neat abilities which are very useful later on, if not completely neccesary. Your arch enemy is a pious man named Victor Delacroix who loses it when the love of his life is taken from him. This is a story that slowly unravels itself but won't be too interesting to a majority of people.

The fighting in this game is great. Alot of moves to do and if you want to survive (on any difficulty above Easy that is) you'll have to be dodging and flipping your way out of harm's way. The incredible thing about this game is, I've never seen so many enemies on the screen at once. The only other time I've seen so many enemies was when I played "Ninety-Nine Nights". There is some issues like the fact that even the CG looks kind of lame and the backgrounds are replaced with immense fog and the visuals aren't that great. But, what will really win you over is the gameplay and soundtrack.

At first I wasn't convinced with this game, but as I really gave it a chance it managed to be a great experience. I had no choice really but to go back to every stage and level up my Legions well and Repiece Thanatos to finish the final stage which would explain the extra hours played. This game will demand more than just tapping the Square button really fast. You will have to really be good at this kind of DMC "No Mercy" gameplay. It is really worth it though. I'm sure it's not for everyone but it's so worth a try. Rent it if you must.
