Capcom seemed to try too hard to "recreate" something it had already done before and it backfired.

User Rating: 5 | Chaos Legion PS2
The idea behind Chaos Legion seemed to be a great set-up. Interesting story, different types of characters, and a Devil May Cry style gameplay and atmosphere.
However, this game went unnoticed and while many times, that's a shame, it seems that for once, the fact that it went unnoticed was rather justified.

Graphics- 7/10
Rather outdated graphics but at the same time, you have to look at the time that it was designed. For its time, they weren't bad but by modern standards, they aren't all that great. But hey, graphics have to start somewhere on the timeline and they can't become superb without being "mediocre" first.

Plot- 7/10
You play as Sieg, who is trying to track down his friend, who has stolen a forbidden book that will basically made the world crumble. While it's not particularly interesting, it's also not painfully dull. There's enough to it to keep you interested and make you want to progress the story, luckily.

Characters- 8/10
You'll meet a small group of characters along the way and they're all interesting in their own way with their own characteristics and personalities. You'll come to care about them, if even if it's just a little.

Gameplay- 6/10
This is what may make or break you on this game. It is a basic hack and slash type of game, again, like the DMC series. However, it is a painfully difficult hack and slash type of game. Perhaps it was just because I really sucked at this game or maybe it really is a hard game. Even in the first ten minutes as you still adjust to the controls, you are throwing into a small pit of large monsters that will kill you in about three hits...and there's about three of them with very little room to run or get out of the way. Now, does this seem fair? Perhaps I'm being too harsh but that seemed like a bit much for a tutorial. Once you can master the difficulty (or just get over it), the gameplay can still be rather fun.

Voice Acting- 7/10
It wasn't terrible but not wonderful either. There has been better and there certainly has been worse.

Music- 8/10
To be honest, I don't remember a whole lot about the music or what my opinion of it even is. Fitting for the events, I will say that much.

Replay Value- NA
I didn't actually make it to the end so I can't say.

Overall? A game that had a lot of potential but was murdered by the game's difficulty. It is one of those games that will you probably either love or hate. There really seems to be very little room in-between. Now, I can't say I fully hated it but it does come close. I really wanted to like this game but the overall difficulty and the "been there, done that" feel put me aside.
