CM5 ought to spend time on the tactical board because its bottom of the table.

I bought this game a while ago and wondered "this could the next big thing". All the fuss was made, which is the usual but this time, it really put me in a position to have second thoughts rather than being sucked into the game. I strongly advised that everyone plays the demo first before even making any sort of decision. Bugs, errors, inaccuarcies, lacklustre in tactics and many more. I wish I could say the better things but there are not that many.

Atleast one thing is for sure, they have tried and may learn lessons in getting to the top not by simply trying to copy FM 2006 but by offering a side to football, the 3D pitch, to be honest, does not do the game real justice, its looks good but the inaccuarcies and bugs just simply ruin the whole thing and make you want to uninstall the whole game. To sum it up, its random and too unreal.

The good marks will come to the graphics side and even the training is abit of fun but without the gameplay which I feel Eidos have been slacking, the game is not enjoyable nor real, therefore, it does not deserve to be at the side of any other management sim.

One thing that did make me laugh a lot was the boast about the Obta stats that they have, to be honest, its worthless and so pointless that they might of as well worked to get the game engine itself right. They have, unfortunately, in my opinion, failed in both areas.

In some moments, the game can have go very well, however, I did feel that there was something missing. It looked like that they forgot to implement some of the features, such as praising players etc. These only come with the patches, which have, thankfully, fix so many of the bugs in the game. Even with these corrections, you tend to wonder why on earth am I still playing this.

To sum it up, in a way I do actually feel for Eidos, because it was a breakaway from Sports Interactive and it meant a fresh new start but whilst the heads of Sports Interactive are drinking champagne in their board room because of the their unbelieve success, CM5 still sits there in the 'relegation zone', only to rethink their strategy and I hope sincerely they do not fall but stay up and fight another day.

The game had three words, Pace, Precision, Passion. Instead, it should of been Wrong, Worthless, Wasteful.
