I wish they would do follow up reviews on MMOs. They change regularly, and it would be nice to know how/if they've improved over time. Maybe yearly micro-reviews.

At least with this one I can check it out for free.

From the review, it doesn't sound all that great... but hey, it's free now. And anything free is worth having

its a decent game. has a lot more content now. it's free to play for the silver membership ( after you pay for the retail version). you can even us a game pad. don't know if it's better or not then DC's game not paying 50-60$ to find out lol. This was supposed to be Marvel's game but marvel backed out for some reason. however silver ( free) is limited to what you can create an have access to which is expected that would really piss off the gold members if you could lol. but i like it , other than CoH and DCU not many superhero online games out there especially free ones

I am not the typical mmo player. Have been playing them since eq, ao and uo (not really mmo with all the hacks). Currently have scripts to lotro, aion and CO. I don't know what it is about this game but I love it. Content? missions are repetitive like all the others but in CO they can be a test of your build. Like the guy said, it is wide open and possible to choose any power without having to belong to particular class. On the other hand you do have to think which is nice for an mmo. Instead of picking a class knowing your getting the same thing everyone else with same class, you plan ahead, experiment with powers and buffs vs your stats. You level and go to the powerhouse where you can then use one of their many test rooms, from simulated lazer attacks, obstacle course for different travel powers, test dummies and then a simulated AI battle field choosing difficulty and 1 - 5 teams. Some say they solo 5 teams on hardest level and yes its possible with the right builds. You can test drive and change powers without penalty as long as you do not leave the power house. I have spent days in there figuring out the best possible build while keeping within a theme using the most visually impressive effects all at the same time. At the point of developing virtual agouraphopia, then, another mission is suddenly more exiting after a boost of power and/or visual effects. Bottom line, for me this is an Arcade mmo. They added more since print, free expansion 2 months away.

Honestly, I was kinda hoping this game would be good. My good friend plays it so I started playing it but after awhile I simply can't play it anymore. There is literally nothing that's keeping me going. Like he said, it can be fun for the first month... after that.... Well, it's just plain boring.

It can also be hard to find a character you like.. While there's a lot of choices it still might not make you happy. I've dumped all my skills and got new ones countless times and I still haven't found anything that I even remotely like, I just find ones that are more or less powerful.

That's a great thing about Champions though, if you don't like your characters skills... Go to the powerhouse, unlearn them, and learn new ones. It can cost a lot but if you have the resources (In game currency) then you can do it as many times as you like.
