i think they are on a very good path for making a good game. people love to customize their own hero with looks and powers or abilities, with tons of options to make their own character unique and fun. i dont know if this game will be exactly like that but to me it looks alot like City of Heros/Villans, but HOPEFULLY we wont have to pay to play.
I really hope this doesn't have a monthly fee. I want to play an mmorpg again. Call me cheap, but I don't want to pay continuously for this video game when I don't have to for many others. And since it's on Xbox360, there is a higher chance of it not having a monthly fee. This is a great game. (I hope) :D
it is very, very similar to CoH/CoV. While there are some differences in combat (For example, repetitive attacks/combos), you can do more than see the similarities. Some of the sounds, animations, etc. were directly transferred. It's the same engine, modified lightly, with a lot of what fans wanted directly injected. Supposedly the powers in the game can be fully customized visually, which is something that should've been in COH from day one.
Looks interesting, and I'me with a few of you on the subject of real time combat. I really hope they use something other than the old point, click, wait combat style.
I just started playing CoH/CoV a couple of weeks ago and boy does this game look very similar. Of course it is as it is put out by the same company but what I mean is....this looks like CoH/CoV but with cell-shaded graphics. By-the-way, I am not sold on the cell-shaded graphics yet either. I am sure it will have some things CoH/CoV does not have but from all the vids I have watched it doesn't look that different.
Hmmm... It doesn't seem like Statesman (Jack Emmert) has learned from City of Heroes and Villains. Long attack animations that root the player in place? How is that going to work in PvP? Is PvP really a consideration with this game?
i played the trial of CoV / CoH and the thing i hated most was standing there and waiting for an ability to get off the darn CD , i mean waiting for a punch to be ready come on lol. However i would buy this for my 360 if it was in real time or at least a default attack that don't require a CD.
Being a long time CoH player, I'm already seeing a few things I'd like them to improve on...I have high hopes for this though. C'mon Cryptic, don't let us down now.
Is it too much to expect your opponents to go flying some distance after you unless a juggernaut scale shockwave? Apparently so. However, if you were thinking about starting City Of Heroes, it might be a good idea to wait for this.
Man I really hope it's "real time" game play and not just point click wait. I want action,I want to feel like Im in the game. If I press A on my controller I want him to throw a punch,if I hit A twice on my controler I want him to throw 2 punches, and if I press A,A,B,A I want it to show punch punch kick punch as a combo.
i really want a good mmo for xbox360... i hope this will be it
i havent really seen a good mmo yet... their gameplay seems "to" fake. its just stand here and hold the attack or auto-attack until one wins.
i dont like these games where u have to run over to a enemy stop then smash them then u can run around. Its just the mmos that really do this so its not a totaly bad thing....just u wont see me playing it
Looks sweet to me
it looks just like city of heroes, even has the same sound effects and design, they shoulda just called it city of heroes 2 or something lol
man, is it just me or does this look like on hell of a stinker.
This will make a great mmo for the Xbox360.
