Graphics aren't everything, and Centipede proves it.

User Rating: 9 | Centipede 2600
If you haven't played this in either the arcades or the 2600, you're missing out. Easily one of the best arcade games ever made, Centipede was also one of the best games on the 2600. Any Atari fan should have heard of Centipede, it's too good to miss.

Basically, you have to shoot down all the parts of a centipede before it kills you! Sounds simple, right? Actually, it's not! The parts will separate and still come for you, so you have to be perfect in killing them. Although this sounds boring and repetitive, it's madly addicting, and it's always fun to get a challenge!

The graphics in the game won't really impress, basically consisting of blocks and a forgettable night background. Even considering the 2600 could make multiple colors, the effort they put in the graphics is lame. The audio and sound effects sound awesome, reminding you of old school shooting fun.

Yes, I know the graphics suck, but graphics aren't everything, and Centipede proves it. You'll have too much fun playing Centipede to even care about the graphics. Atari did everything right with the game-play, as they have done with most of their arcade to 2600 ports. Please don't miss out on Centipede on the 2600, it's a classic of addicting proportions!
