Catherine casts a spell over Kevin VanOrd in this video review.
Having finished the game like 4 months ago I came across the GS review.. I feel this is the most perfect GS review i have seen/heard... Each and every one of Kevin's observations are accurate and it keeps u at bay if u hate higher difficulty but emphasizes the feeling of being victorious after each level: like having conquered the world.. I cant praise this game enough.. Go get it..
I wiuld never play this, this is some crazy sh1t I would crap my pants. I like Vivaldi though. Can't play timer games!!!!!! looks really cool and well made.
I finished the game in over 12 hours, it has its tough moments. The story is really exciting (might be predictable if you read a lot of manga). Gameplay is really nice, and the game is kept exciting and entertaining throughout.
Would love to get hold on this game, I'm a big fan of the Shin Megami Tensei series, and Atlus seems to be a very unique developer. Shame it's not coming to PC :/
I just got it for my birthday from my gf...lol. the first boss "TAKE RESPONSABILITIES" was pretty hilarious and the game is wow better than I expected. The story is fun to follow and the nightmares are so tense you keep on making mistakes, and you feel like you've really achieved something once you reach the top
Just finished this game. It is a must buy!! It's considered difficult (or punishing) but it's mainly caused by the wrong moves that the player makes. Most stages has an easy path, it's just a matter of taking the right one. Knowing what happens next in the story urges the player to keep trying, which is good in my opinion.
I don't really understand the relationship between the block jumping stuff and the rest of the story (which sounded pretty interesting and unique, I might add). The allegory sounds a bit simplistic if its just 'he's on the edge'.
I hate puzzles and block pushing and I wont play this game but it looks great, nice Japanese art.I'd watch the story without the block pushing parts lol
Whooo boy so many racist comments on this game. It's a great game. People that are being racist about this are aware that about half the crap they play is from Japan or produced by the Japanese? Hee.
I dont get all the hate, the difficulty makes the finish that more satisfying. This game keeps the pace and makes me wanna keep trying. The style of the game is unique and I like it. But you will have to love puzzles because the puzzles are heavy at the top of the tower.
The game looks pretty far out! One of the better Anime-esk games... shame I can't stand puzzles lol gotta save all the brain power I have for Life's daily dramatic adventures. ;)
i just finished this and i have to say its amazing. Although the difficulty is a bit exaggerated. As long as you dont hate puzzles you will be fine.
Looks pretty cool, I like the use of anime and the anime style in-game graphics, gameplay looks interesting and I can hear classical music in the background. It looks like this game is made for me.
@Dominic_18 And, without playing it, you already judge it. That is plain wrong @parkurtommo Absolutely wrong, sir. You should play a bit of it before stating something so out of place at that. And AFTER playing the game I can say: the puzzles gets a bit repetitive sometimes, but the difficulty curve is well done. The story is deep, mature and is leaded by characters with a big dramatic force. It's the first time in years that I see a mature story like this without relying all the "mature" stuff into half-naked women and ultra-violence (Contents that I enjoy too, by the way), and it's really sad seeing so many people unable to see that and/or not taking this game serious (specially those that openly show they didn't even saw the game but had no problem in coming here and post fake statements about it).
The bar scenes look a hell of a lot more fun than the horrid block puzzles I played in the demo - I appreciate Kevin being open to different kinds of games, but this was the WORST demo I have ever plauyed. No thanks!!!
Rented this game... It was weird, but I liked that, too bad it just didn't immerse me, and believe me, I tried! I'm an anime fan and gamer, and still I couldn't get hard for it...
I can't help but notice the whole Dionysian theme going on in this game...what with the satyr-esque horns and the whole "freedom" vs "order" thing, be it Apollo vs Dionysus as depicted in the Bacchae. Interesting thematic choices. I must say, with the whole classical repertoire and the imagery and themes borrowed from greek mythology, this is looking like a pretty artsy...interesting game. I don't know why I don't own this yet. I'll get to it ASAP.
It's like Welcome to the NHK meets Boom Blox meets SMT. If Catherine comes to the 3DS, I'm nabbing it.
