I waited for this game. I waited and waited. I preordered it to get the Master Quest disk. And when it finally arrived, I was so excited. I immediately put it in the Gamecube and started playing. Personally, I believe that this is the worst of the 3D Zeldas. It is an amazing game, but there are a few problems. First of all: The Graphics. I love Zelda, and the graphics are good, but they just make the game look much too childish. The gameplay is basically the same formula as past Zeldas, but you have to sail around in your boat alot, which gets very annoying. The sound, as always, is great. The value, however, isn't as good as the other 3D Zeldas, and so is the story. At the beginning of the game, your sister is kidnapped by monsters and taken to a fortress. You go to save her, but are defeated. It is then discovered that an old enemy has returned to fulfill his promise when he was last defeated. Somehow, it just doesn't give me the same feeling of satisfaction or entertainment that Ocarina of Time's story (You accidentally allow Ganondorf into the sacred realm and must stop him) or Majora's Mask's story (Innocent, ignorant, and lonely Skull Kid steals an evil mask and is controlled by it) gives to me. I give this game a 9.1. If you are looking for a great Gamecube game, give this a try. However, if you are new to Zelda, you may be put off by the graphics and sailing, so start with Ocarina of Time.
