Castlevania: Lords of Shadow User Review

- "Underappreciated"
Story: The story takes place in the end of days in Europe, where people start to think that God has abandoned them. The players take the role of Gabriel Belmont, a member of the brotherhood of light whose purpose is to destroy evil in the world. Gabriel embarks on a epic journey to defeat the three lords of shadow, and recieve a powerful relic called the god mask, with this he plans to bring back his wife from the dead and restore the balance in the world. The story itself is very good and has a good pace. During the game you will meet all sorts of different characters, most of which are very intersting. The story has a few twists here and there and not to mention a fantastic ending. All in all the story is pretty good and the ending just makes it all worth while.
Graphics: First off let me say that this game is beautiful. The environments are vaired and detailed, The character models look great and very detailed as well. Not to mention that the voice acting is top notch espically Patrick Stewart who serves as Zobek, one of the few allies that you have, who also does a fantastic job at narrating the story. The only real bad thing about the graphics is that sometimes the game can glitch a little bit (only happened to me once). But these graphics are some of the best in the bussiness.
Gameplay: Now time for the most important part of the game... the gameplay. The game is a action/adventure game, you will be doing a number of different things which are: fighting enemies, solving puzzles, fighting bosses and platforming. First lets get to the combat of the game. In the game your main weapon is a combat cross that has a chain whip attached to it that is used to hit enemies from afar, when fighting enemies you will gain points that you can use to buy in combos and such. I should also say the the enemy variaty is great because there are so many different types of enemies. The only bad thing I can say about the fighting is that I wish you had more weapons and that it seems a little like "God of War" but you have to remember that "God of War" took ideas from other games too. Now the puzzles in this game are very tough but when you do complete them you are on top of the world. You can even buy the solution to the puzzle if you are really stumped. Now my favorite part of the gameplay, the bosses. These bosses are epic and look badass and are a lot of fun to take down. You will even get some cool bosses that draw influence from "Shadow of the Colossus." I didn't enjoy all of the bosses, espically the last one, but they are great and are fun to fight. Now the platforming is nothing really special, it isn't broken or terrible, but it is just not very fun and is a little slow. So I really enjoyed the gameplay and if you are a fan of action games I highly sugest playing this game.
The verdict/Final score
Story 9:Good pacing, great set up and intersting characters, along with a few twists here and there make this game's story great. Along with having an amazing ending.
Graphics 9.5: This game is beautiful, from the environments to the enemies along with some top notch voice acting make this game's graphics almost prefect.
Gameplay 9 : Fun combat with lots of different enemies and combos make the combat a blast with some epic bosses in the mix. The puzzles are hard but rewarding and the platforming works.
Enjoyment 10: Had a great time playing this, other than getting annoyed a few times. All in all a solid action game that proves that you can take ideas from other games and still have it's own identity
Final Score: 9.5

Good gameplay and graphics. The story is quite confusing and lastly it has no multiplayer, so that's a let down.
