mercury steam gave the castlevania-series the real gothic style in the right direction...
or do you think the style of Castlevania- Portrait of ruin and the developer before mercury steam were more successful ??
the latest Castlevania-Lords of Shadow is the nost epic castlevania and sales very well!!!

It's pretty clear from these topics which "fans" have only played SoTN and which ones actually appreciate the series. It's no coincidence that the latter seem to appreciate Lords of Shadow despite not being a "real" Castlevania, which is a laughably untrue accusation to begin with.

true and the 2 post were funny as well. CLoS is the most fun i have had with Castlevania since SotN, RoB, SQ, and DC.

Not only that, for me LoS is the best thing that has happened to the 25 year old franchise since SotN launched 15 years ago. Not only that but according to Konami its also the best selling CV game of all time. Its difficult to think now that CV Judgement launched mere months before LoS did. What was Konami thinking!?

I liked LoS, and I like the 3D Castlevanias a LOT (mainly Curse and Legacy of Darkness, but they're all good).
My ONLY issue with LoS is the combat is too much like God of War and not enough like what Castlevania should feel like.

At least with Leon and Trevor, it didn't feel like you were basically Kratos with only one blade instead of two. That was my problem.
The combos and everything felt too God of War for my tastes.
And was it my imagination, or was Gabriel a friggin GIANT compared to everyone else?
