Castlevania: Curse of Darkness E3 2005 Preshow Report

The long-running Castlevania series is preparing for another foray into 3D with Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. The game is currently scheduled for release in North America this fall.

Curse of Darkness casts you in the role of a man named Hector. Hector is what they call a "Devil Forgemaster," and this skill will factor into the game fairly heavily. Practicing devil forgery will allow you to conjure up innocent devils and develop them into assistants that can attack enemies or assist you in progressing. On top of conjuring these devils, Hector will also earn experience points that will enhance his abilities as you play through the game. The story of the game has Hector going up against another forgemaster named Issac, who believes Hector to be responsible for Dracula's death.

The combat system will allow you to use numerous weapons and combos. As you'd expect from a Castlevania game, Curse of Darkness is said to contain a good number of unlockable items and features.
