Pretty Good

User Rating: 9.4 | Akumajou Dracula: Circle of the Moon GBA
THE GOOD: There is plenty to get your teeth into, a vast playing area will keep the more adventurous amongst you hooked for ages. The storyline, eerie title music and introduction really set the scene. THE BAD: I found the BIGGEST problem was that the game is far too dark, bordering on the impossible to see the character in certain positions, an example of this would be a small way into the game you are faced with a flying monster who makes the floor rise, almost wave like and you need to jump over the rising floor. I found it hard sometimes to actually see the floor rising, and as for the worms/snakes on the floor, almost impossible to see. I realise Nintendo have gone for long battery life in the GBA but to sacrifice the screen brightness in this quest was a mistake, especially in a game such as this where the whole point of it is to be set in a low light castle. If you lack patience then this is not for you as the game can get quite hard very soon. SUMMARY: If you don't mind playing a game where the screen is exceptionally dark and you can hardly see your character then this is for you. Otherwise I would stay clear which is a real pity as the game is definately a winner and has the scope to keep you addicted for weeks. I would recomend you try to rent a copy or try a friends game before you part with your money.
