Not birdie, more of a game well above par and definitely one for the whole family!

When it comes to gaming these days, most of the time it appears the adults have most of the fun.
But if there's one game that my children love to play with me at the moment , it has to be Carnival Games: MiniGolf out now on the Nintendo Wii from 2K Play.
From the second it loads it just oozes quality and appeal that is perfect for the younger gamers.
From its lush cartoon-style graphics to it's vibrant humour throughout, this larger-than-life theme park-style golf game is something you will want to play time and time again.
At the moment, I can't get on my console because my children love it so much!
And it's perfect for the Wii platform owing to the wonderful controller which lets you get right in on the action. Hold the controller like a golf club and putt away – simple!
Choose a game style – single or multi – choose your character, put them in very colourful outfits and select from one of three courses to start with. There a total of 25 holes altogether on courses that include the Wild West, Pirate's Delight and a journey back to Medieval times so there's plenty to go at.
I really love the way each hole is introduced in true fly-by style so you can see at a glance the challenges that lie ahead. And the end sequences once you have managed to sink your putt are superb.
Some of the holes even have mini-games to add to the challenge. Land your ball down a certain path and you'll have to play catch the eggs or remember the sequence.
For me, this was a bit of an unnecessary step, as the holes provide enough of a challenge and the mini-games seem to get in the way.
Remember that this game isn't designed to give Tiger Woods a run for its money, but as it follows hot on the heels of the well-received Carnival Games, this new title allows to play the sort of golf that you remember playing with you parents while on a bargain holiday to Bognor without the driving rain or the biting wind to contend with.
Graphically, it's gorgeous and the playability is excellent.
From a youngster's point of view, this game is a lot of fun. I think adults will enjoy it too, although they probably wouldn't admit it!
